John Thomas has experienced broad-based success throughout his career by professionally marketing multifamily properties, retail shopping centers, warehouse/industrial assets, as well as net leased properties, office buildings and land for development. John has completed the sale transaction on some of the regions most significant investment real estate spanning a variety of asset classes. To date, John, Mark and their team have completed over 5 billion dollars in successful real estate transactions.

In 2010, John facilitated the largest commercial real estate transaction in Long Island history with the $230,000,000. Fairhaven 1666 unit, multifamily portfolio sale. The Fairhaven portfolio sale is still recognized today as one of the largest real estate transactions ever on Long Island. John is a multiyear winner of the CoStar Power Broker award as well as a recipient of Long Island Business News Real Estate and Development award. In addition, John was the recipient of an Area Leader award from the Real Estate Forum and in 2018 was selected as an industry expert to judge the National Multifamily Housing Council’s competition for innovation in nationwide multifamily communities.
John’s extensive list of satisfied clients range from institutional, REIT’s, private equity firms, regional and national companies, family trusts and individuals further evidence his relationship driven commitment. An example of high level industry recognition was that (through referral) John was contacted by a private equity company to advise them with underwriting their acquisition of a multifamily REIT. This led to SREA providing successful several hundred million dollars of multifamily transactions through both confidential as well as national marketing campaigns conducted by SREA.
Mr. Thomas is a licensed real estate broker and an active member in the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Living on Long Island and raising 2 children with his wife, John is an active member of his community. For 8 years he mentored disadvantaged high school students, has been involved in coaching youth sports and supports numerous charities. In his free time, John pursues his interest in art, music and sports and finds that the combination of these interests is helpful for the creative and competitive spirit necessary for the ever-evolving real estate climate.
